“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the
angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Mark 13: 32
Scripture clearly tells us, through Jesus, that only the Father knows
the exact time for the triumphant return of the True King. While
we exist in a time-space continuum created by God, He decides,
along that time line, when to intervene.
Four hundred years spanned the time between the final Old Testament
prophet and the birth of Jesus. That same Jesus marched
steadfastly toward the cross mindful at all times of the 'time'
for His work to come to fulfillment.
We yearn for Him to come, to return, to set things right, to
judge creation justly and return all to what it was supposed
to be, including us. That resurrected body certainly sounds
nice to me, and the glorious chance to walk with God as
His adopted.
So why the delay? Whether you lean toward predestination
or scriptures that indicate God's wish that All should be
saved and not perish, it is clear that God has not yet filled
His family. The mansion is not yet full, the book of life
still has unchecked boxes, the eternal saintly choir
has not yet been fully peopled. There are those who, for
whatever reason, have not yet taken to their knees and
called upon the name of the Lord.
While we anxiously wait, we may just play a part, big or
small, in adding a soul by God's means to the attendance
in Heaven. What a productive and glorious use of our
time as we patiently wait for the trumpet and the sign
of His return!
Praise God!

God Isn't Bound By Our Stopwatch
“For a thousand years in Your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.”
Psalm 90: 4
Time. It's part of our "dimension," if you will. We are bound by the fact that we live within a
framework of linear time. It seems to change in its speed depending on our age, the situations we face and the way we are living, but it stays the same in actuality. One hour when we were young is the same as one hour when we are older. One hour when we are
anxious is the same length as one hour when we are relaxed and at peace.
It is clear, however, that our God is not bound by linear time. His "timing," if you will,
is not ours. Examples in our study of the Bible would include the "quiet time" between
the the final book of the old testament and the blessed arrival of our Christ Jesus on earth.
We are all waiting, alert to the fact that Jesus is to return at any time, even though it has
been close to two thousand years since His Ascension.
Without going into a lot of detail, events recently involving my daughter and son-in-law
became quite complicated. They had moved to Florida, rented a house and suddenly that
house was sold out from under them. The typical slow-moving process of that home being officially sold, left them unsure of what they were going to do. Prayers were constant and
corporate; many folks were praying that there would be a clarification of what was going
to happen. Yet....
Anxiousness was setting in when there was no resolution. It is always easy to say that we
trust God's outcome will be right and just. Well it continued to the point where nerves were
frayed and a possible confrontation seemed imminent. Yep, that's exactly when God stepped
in and resolved the situation, in His good time and in His good way. His timing, the right
timing, was perfect and a blessing.
It was a perfect example that the God of the Universe sees the totality of time, at the same
time, and works His good plan at the time and at the rate that He wishes. Understanding
the concept of God's time can bring us patience and peace when things don't seem to be
happening at the rate we would wish.
It is obviously important to also be aware that God's answers to our prayers, and there
WILL be answers, are also not always the results that we intended. He will answer
in His way at His time and the answers will truly be for the good. After all, He is God,
He is in control of our lives and He loves us.
Praise our Holy God!
